Land Survey

Land surveying or Surveying is the profession, technique, and science of determining the terrestrial or three-dimensional position of points and the distances and angles between them.

 

The planning and execution of most forms of construction require it. It is also used in transport, communications, mapping, and the definition of legal boundaries for land ownership. It is an important tool for research in many other scientific disciplines.

While surveying we map the perimeter boundaries of parcels of real property which may require the setting of permanent or semi-permanent markers at the corners of the property. In construction surveys we calculate and mark on the ground where, both horizontally and vertically, specific design elements are to be placed and constructed.
