Soil investigation Synopsys

  • Need –  Soil formations are complex. The type and properties of soil vary horizontally and vertically in varied aspects. Thus, investigation of soil becomes important before any civil engineering work. Several methods are used in geotechnical investigation and soil investigation is one of them.

 

  • What We Do –  We carry out different tests to obtain different soil parameters which include – Shear strength, Compressibility, Permeability, Chemical, and mineral composition.

 

  • Field work –  Soil samples are collected from the area of investigation in the form of a Core sample or loose and packed separately and labeled. Soil testing is done in two separate ways. One is an ‘insitu test’ e.g. standard penetration test sample and the other is a ‘lab-based test’ e.g. Atterberg’s limit, CBR test, etc.

 

  • Deliverables – After getting the laboratory results, the recommendation report is prepared by geotechnical experts which would help in deciding the type of foundation depending on various factors.
